What the app does

Docket scans documents on your iPhone and keeps every step on the device. There is no account, no upload and no analytics. Capture with the camera, which finds page edges automatically, or import a photo or PDF from your library. Docket recognizes the text on device and builds a searchable PDF, so the text is selectable and searchable in Files, Spotlight, Mail and anywhere else you open it.

Docket Pro ($9.99, a single one-time purchase, no subscription) adds automatic file naming, a one-line summary and extracted fields (dates, totals, names) using Apple's on-device Foundation Models, plus signatures and merging two documents into one.

The AI naming, summary and field extraction in Pro need an iPhone with Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or later) turned on in Settings. Without it, new documents still get an automatic date-based name, and every free-tier feature works the same either way.

How to use it

From the home screen, tap the camera icon to scan — VisionKit finds page edges automatically — or tap Photos/Files to import an existing image or PDF.
Tap a page to see its recognized text; select and copy it like any text.
Tap Export to share the searchable PDF, or Print to open the system print sheet.
On a document's page list, tap Edit to reorder pages by drag or delete them.
With Pro: tap the AI insights row for an automatic summary and extracted fields, tap Sign on a page to draw and place a signature, or select two documents from the home screen and tap Merge.

Frequently asked questions

How do I restore my purchase?

Open the About screen, or tap any Pro-only feature to reach the paywall, and tap "Restore purchase." This re-checks your entitlement with Apple — useful after reinstalling the app or switching to a new iPhone with the same Apple ID.

Does anything leave my iPhone?

No. Scanning, OCR and PDF building all run on-device with Apple's Vision framework, and Pro's AI insights use Apple's on-device Foundation Models. There is no server this app talks to, and no analytics SDK of any kind.

What's included for free, and what needs Pro?

Capture, OCR, search, page reorder/delete, export/share/print, rename and delete are all free, with no watermark, no ad and no page limit. Docket Pro ($9.99, one-time) only gates AI insights (naming, summary, field extraction), signatures, and merging documents.

Why don't I see AI insights for a document?

AI naming, summaries and field extraction need Apple Intelligence, available on iPhone 15 Pro or later (or equivalent Apple silicon) with Apple Intelligence turned on in Settings. Without it, the app gives new documents an honest, automatic date-based name instead — capture, OCR, search and export are unaffected.

How do I merge two documents?

This is a Pro feature. On the home screen, tap Select, choose two or more documents, then tap Merge — their pages combine into the first document you selected.

How do I delete a document?

Open the document, tap the "…" menu, then "Delete document" (this asks you to confirm first).
